Nokomis communities in bloom
We are the local chapter of a national program committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and community beautification. In 2021, our volunteers undertook several projects including: planting flowers in barrels at both of the town’s welcome signs, installing three new rail planters on Main Street; planting trees along the #20 at the south entrance to town; hosting a sidewalk chalk-art event for kids in June, planting a pollinator garden at our fabulous Museum; installing a new info centre outside the Post Office; and starting the development of a native prairie park. There’s lots more being planned, including a special event in October that will feature barn quilt art. Follow our facebook page to learn more.
We have fun and we’re always eager to have more people involved!
